Event Details

Attend this new workshop presented by Barry Giles of BuildingWise to learn how to use the new rating system for the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED for Existing Buildings. Learn how to maximize building performance and acheive LEED EB Operations & Maintenance (LEED EBOM) certification.

The workshop will cover the following:

  • LEED EB O&M rating system
  • Costs and Return on Investment details
  • Step-by-step program to complete a LEED EBOM program

Topics discussed will include: Energy Performance, Water Management, Site Planning, Materials Used, Indoor Air Quality, Costs of Greening, ROI, LEED EB exam basics, and LEED EBOM discussion highlights.

The instructor, Barry Giles, is the founder of BuildingWise LLC and has been a LEED Accredited Professional since 2004. Before founding BuildingWise, Barry was the Building Services Engineer at Moss Landing Marine Laboratories in Moss Landing, CA. Barry is the leading LEED-EB Faculty trainer for the US Green Building Council, and serves on USGBC's curriculum committee, where he is the Vice Chair, the LEED-EB core committee, and a board member of the Northern California Chapter and the Monterey Bay committee leadership team. Additionally, Barry has over 25 years experience in building operations and management while in the US, Europe, Caribbean and the Middle East. He has taught a wide range including the West Indian work force in modern building techniques, worked in a construction startup in the Middle East and high penalty clause work in Europe. Barry provides thorough technical expertise as well as a breadth of real-world sustainability program implementation experience. Barry is a member of IFMA.

Please note "At the door" payments will be accepted by credit card payment only. Space is limited and workbooks for "At the door" participants will be available on a first come first serve basis after all pre-registered participants have received their workbooks.
